Our other thread got off topic, so here's our Glock 20SF thread.

As mentioned before, G20SF, good idea or bad? Any takers. I don't think it would ever take off, but who knows with Gaston, as G37 mentioned, the frames are already made...Would be a logical next Glock though.

Don't get me wrong... I like Glocks... especially the G19, G27 and G22... but I don't care for the double stack G's in .45ACP or 10mm... and I wouldn't see myself getting one in a single stack either...

I prefer my .45's & 10mm on 1911 frames please... ;)

I would go for a single stack 10mm... the double is just slightly too large and single stack 1911s fit just right. Great grip + great reliability + 10mm = fun

K, just got back from the range.
A friend of mine (fellow CGNer) just pick'd himself up one of these
G21 SF, se we took it for a test drive. Wow! Awesome rig. Why. . ?
Because this thing has NO RECOIL! well alrite, it has recoil but nothing
compared to any other .45 I've shot. My P220 all stianless, even with
it's extra weight isn't as tame as this gun.
I was comparing it to a P226 I had in 9mm (all I had there) and there
was very minimal difference. Really, it's that light.
We let the guy in the next stall over give it a go, he said it was alright,
but he doesn't like 9mm. Then we told him it was .45. The look on his
face was a tru Kodak moment.
Anyway, I'm not sure if the older 21's are like this, but for the king of
little recoil .45's, this is it.
we were shooting standard load 230gr. ball.

Yeah, I'm the guy that was in the next range and I have to admit, I was really impressed with the Glock 21 SF enough to say that if I were to purchase a Glock tomorrow it would be this model. It just felt soooo sweet to shoot!

How did the grip seem to compare with the "traditional" G21?

Well, it's been said alot before;
'that it is in between the 21 frame and a 17 frame'
and yeah, that's pretty much spot on. If I had to choose,
I would say it's prolly closer to a 17 tho. My small hands
make the 21 frame seem ungodly huge.

If Glock made a 10mm or .45auto in a single stack, that was legal
to own here (not prohib), I'd be ALL OVER that model. Prolly buy two!

Talk to Questar, they can probably order one and put in a 106mm aftermarket barrel, making it restricted. It will look goofy, but fit your hand the same as the prohib model.

It felt shorter front to back. I have medium size hands and it felt like I was holding onto a G17 (but ever so slightly bigger). That's about the best way for me to describe it. As far as size between the original G21, I wouldn't even consider it because it feels too big in my hand. The "SF" caters more to my hand size. The thing that really caught my attention was the lack of felt recoil with one hand (for a .45ACP).
