Glockaholics Anonymous / Info on G30sf, G26 and G19 barrels

For a first Glock, I would NOT recommend a G30SF or G29!
Are you an experienced handgun shooter? I’ve shot the G26 and I’m sure bsands can agree. The recoil is significantly more than a G19 or G17 even though it’s only a 9mm. The .45 or 10mm versions would be a handful and definitely not help in your marksmanship skills if you’re new to handguns.

The recoil on a g26 is very minimal. I remember my first magazine, 3" group at 7 yards. That was my first time shooting a 9mm in years. Only gun before that it was a lcp, that thing has crazy muzzle flip.

But comparing the 26 to a 17.. is night and difference. The g26 really torques the wrist in comparison tho. Then comparing the Glocks to say an all steel shadow is night and day difference. I have no problem rapid firing with my cz and still being on target. Compare that to the g26 and it's like a shot gun.

I did shoot uspsa with my g26, I was Consistently bottom 5. Switched to a shadow custom, got up to 18/100 in uspsa. And actually won the club idpa match.
