glock's for my compagnie

On a related note I was advised by an armored car company in BC that they are also going to .40 cal Glocks...but get this...they are being restricted to 10 round mags!!! What brain surgeon decided that? Clearly the reason that the people carrying the guns are for protection of life (just like law enforcement), then why hamper them with a limited magazine. The thought of this makes me go crazy as to what possible reason this was implemented. The official from the company advised that when he also questioned this he was advised that they were just lucky to get autos so he should stop complaining. Phil.

Are you serious? 10 round mags, what the hell? They would have to reload when the criminals that HAVE full capacity mags will continue shooting. It's ridiculous.

Would they be limited to 10 rounds? I'm guessing not.

EDIT: never mind i found my answer, maybe i should read the WHOLE thread.

I was told by one of my friend's in the G4S that mags for security companies were limited to ten-rounders. He said oh well, figures he'll never even draw, and he could easily find a replacement in Canada if he broke one/wanted an extra/etc...

Well I guess no sense applying for a job there if your going to use a Glock. I put a Glock and an XD 40 Tactical in my hands, XD 40 won hands down it felt wright in my hand.

Shot 2000 rounds in a month, reloads and manufactured loads and firing lead, fmj and hollow points, all of it without any problems. Planning on buying a XDm 40 in the future.

But I guess a Glock is better than a slingshot.

I can understand the mag cap limitation...it has to be equally enforced, regardless...now if they got rid of it altogether...

I think your missing my point. These guns and mags are not issued for fun or target practice...they are issued and approved for defending your life should someone try to shoot and kill you. To have a mag limitation similar to sport shooters (remember your purpose for legal purpose for having a private handgun is for collection or target practice). By the way I am completley against this from a personal stand point but I am just stating the current law. Phil.

I would have gone with a SIG SA/DA like P226, or better yet the 220! For carry I prefer the DA trigger on the first shot. I am also not comfortable with the SA coked and locked carry of the 1911s.

Ask yourself what the trigger pull is like on the Glocks. (I don't know much about the "safe action" trigger of the Glocks, but I love the SIG design with decocker. Plus the quality is there.

Remember that the armored car companies like public agancies have budgets to keep in mind when buying new guns. Also they have to train individuals with limited resources and budget to transition from revolvers to automatics. Glocks have different trigger options although I am sure they will have the New York + trigger. Glocks have proven to be very reliable, good warranty and parts support and I think are an excellent choice for front line LE and Armoured car companies. Phil.

Of course Glock is a good choice, it's cheap but reliable. On the other hand, I agree with drvrage, I find the Sig to be the choice (if I was able to choose the weapond I would be carrying, it would be the P226, no question), it's less likely to have an AD/ND with a Sig than a Glock, the Glock may be a "safe action pistol", but it's main desing makes it more likely to have an AD/ND in unexperimented hands than the Sig, we hear almost each week about a police officer shooting him/herself with a Glock, I know most police agencies use Glocks, but a big part uses Sigs.
Of course the Glock is lighter, and it's probably why those who carry all day prefer it.
If I had to carry a light handgun, it would be a Walther P99, not a Glock.
And 9x19mm would be my choice. 40S&W would be on the limit, and .45acp wouldn't be in my options.
Last time I saw Garda the guy was carrying a Sig Pro, does anybody knows if it's the "official" carry gun for Garda?

Gosh I would like to see on of those guys carry an AR15 or a 870 Tactical, damn that would be kickass, total "don't #### with me" look. :D

Buy Glock, a 21SF. If you ever need to use it in a high stress situation, all you do is draw, point and shoot. I'd also buy a Comp-tac Minotaur holster. Secure, fast draw. The .45 is a better round, as far as I remember, it is a better round in closer quarters (9s and 40s keep on going more so according to ballistics). If I had a job like yours, I'd rather not have a gun with a safety that could be on when I need it most. Just my thoughts.

And what gun is not point an shoot from a holster?

SA if you don't carry cocked and locked. But no one does that...I hope.

Agreed... safety are liabilities if you ask me. Internal trigger based safeties like transfer bars are fine because they prevent the firing pin from hiiting the primer unless the trigger is depressed, but a safety that blocks the trigger pull is not a good idea. I think it was invented by Libtards.

The CFO is making all the armored companies switch to pistols. They want to get rid of all the 4" prohibs. Brinks Went with M&P.40

Better idea: The prohib barrel length should be changed to something more reasonable... say 1/2"... then there's no worry about security guards packing prohibs everywhere!

What's the difference between the Glock 21 & Glock 21 SF?

Not sure why there is so much "glock bashing" happening. I shot one with the CPA a couple of weeks ag and five of my 10 shots touch each other at 20 feet and I have never shot anato before. It is simple, 34 parts to the gun, great stopping power in the 40 or 45 cal's , and law enforcement around the world trust it. Sure there are nicer feeling guns, etc etc etc but for price, reliability, and carrying weight it is good to great across the board. I would take it any day over the M&P I shot a couple days ago. Just my opinions though.
