Gentlemen I'm looking for information as to how many of you hand gun shooters wear gloves, or do not wear gloves while at your favorite range, Thanks FS

Are you asking about gloves for protection if the gun kabooms, protection from heavy recoil, protection from the cold or to look tactically cool? In my case I wear gloves when it is cold then take them off , shoot ( I like to really feel the trigger and the gun), then put them back on again. I don't shoot any really magnum loads because I usually shoot paper. I trust my loads , so I am not obsessed by worry of a kaboom and I like to think I look cool all the time.

No for the most part. I have recently tried wearing "shooting gloves" to improve the dexterity of shooting with gloves on. I must say it's very different for me and is tougher then it looks.

I shoot with a pair of Hatch Dura-thin unlined leather gloves when it is cold out. It keeps your hands relatively warm (better than nothing) and helps with gripping the gun.
They are excellent gloves that afford the best manual dexterity out of all the leather gloves I have tried.

Say boys thanks for your responses, part two is sounding as though most of you have answered. I am assuming none of you wear gloves at indoor ranges? Thanks FS

I've been wearing Hatch Operator CQBs for over a year now, and I think they're great. Not the most durable of gloves, but Kalashnikov rifles have sharp edges and hot barrels if you're shooting one with any speed. Speed being TacRifle. :D

I want the same gloves the US troops wear, they are tight enough around your hands that you can fire a gun and reload. But still protect at the same time.

I don't usually wear any gloves unless shooting outdoors in the winter. I do however, use 'grip tape' on the grip of my XD. A good friend wears a pair of Nomex flight gloves while shooting and says he likes the enhanced grip he gets with them... I tried them and didn't notice any improvement. To each his/her own I guess.
