Have the same thing on mine, also new 2011. Tried the same things, dont work. I think it's actually a sloppy job with fiberglass resin dripping around. I think the best solution is to paint the whole thing with Krylon fusion.
I think the Chinese mfg. may also offer a no question asked, no problem, return and full refund policy. Might be wrong on that one, because I think they expect you will sell the gun before you even go there. Problem Solved
