Glut of hunting rifles for sale on EE... wonder what % actually sell?

Flocking i.e. like birds!

I notice quite often that if someone posts an item for sale on CGN that other people will post the same item for sale at the same or similar price. i.e. like someone posts a Winchester model 70 or Leupold FX 4 for sale and suddenly there are a couple more for sale at the same time, especially if the original posting is quite high, however the new posting are no bargains either!

When buying used, you have more risk. If I buy new from the store, and something goes wrong, I can return to the store and get it made right. No such luck with used sales, so when you buy used you necessarily take on all that risk. That risk is what makes the item worth only half of the new price.

Totally disagree. I bought a CVA Scout in 45-70 from a site sponsor. After 7 shots the top rail broke. Store wouldn't help me. Gave me a phone number of CVA's warranty company. Called them up. Told me 2 year to wait for parts from the USA. Great.

December 1st. Bought a new BCL Bison in 7.62x39 from a different site sponsor. Less than 20 shots later the extractor broke. Place I bought it from can't help me - have to contact the manufacturer. I'm in the process of trying to get it fixed.

So, lesson here is NOT BUY A NEW FIREARM. Used is the way to go. Let someone else have it break on the first range trip. When you spend $1000+ on a new firearm, it would be nice if it didn't break.

It’s true that almost all vendors will point you to the manufacturer’s repair centre if there’s a defect after the sale.

I posted several rifles on the EE 2 weeks ago. As of today, I have sold 70% of them at asking price.
So, really not bad at all. Dave.

Yeah I saw that… I also noticed that your prices were quite lower than what most would have asked for the same stuff!! Good for you!

It’s all about how eager you are to sell. Like Eagleye, I’ve sold many in the last few months and all sold. A few sold in minutes so maybe I was a little low on the price, lol

My old real estate buddy said, everything sells if the price is right. When he started selling the company only gave him trash to list. He sold them all after he convinced the sellers to adjust their price to sell and not to speculate. Good advice…
