Gmx failure(dead bear pics)

One or two bullets does not and can not represent an entire line of bullets. No shot on a living animal can be repeated accurately. Unfortunately it only takes one bad bullet to sour our tastes. Fortunately there's many choices out there. Personally I won't use Barnes tsx bullets based on my experience however thousands of other hunters love them. It's like me not owning a dodge instead I drive imports or certain members hatred for common calibers such as the 270 or 338 wm. Some may be warrented based on many years of in the field game shooting others may be just a personal taste. Myself I don't like the 308 win but I honestly can't say why. Many animals have been taken with cheap cup and core or solid lead and many have been lost due to premium bullets. The opposite is also true. That's what's great about cgn. We can all log in from across the country or globe and argue about meaninglessness. In this case the bear died quick and humanely and that's all we can ever really strive for

Yeah I'm not writing the GMX off yet. The deer ran 30yds then piled up dead so it worked. I shot a doe with one at ~100yds and had a fist sized hole on the exit. That one also hit bone, but on the far shoulder this time.

For less than 2500 fps the core-lokt is as good as any.
I use them in everything up to and including the heavier bullets in 308 win with excellent results.
May not carry the same hunt camp bragging rights as the noslers and gmxs but I can live with the humility for 1/3 the price.
Gun and ammo manufacturers have made fortunes on gimmick products while cheaper generic products have done the job for decades for a fraction of the cost.
