Go Tenda Transfer?

every restricted that I have purchased form out of province, from a ''retailer'' (I'm in BC) has always been ''add to cart'' relax, wait fpr postman. However any restricteds I've purchased in BC that had to be shipped or other wise (local pick-up)
I was given a ''reference''# and required to finish the transfer myself. Picked up an STI at the Calgary gun show last year, purchased from an individual, he sent me a reference # and I completed the transfer.

I just got my transfer initiation email with reference # from Go Tenda, I called the CFP just to see if I had to do anything further to complete it after seeing this thread but he said no, it should be approved within the next few days.

Here's my email from last week:

Hello, a note has just been added to your order:

Hi
We had submitted the restricted firearm transfer application to your Chief Firearm Officer. The reference number ######X
We will arrange the shipment for you as soon as we get the transfer approved. The tracking number will be sent to you via Email before the package goes out.

Thanks you!
Regards
Team Tenda

This email means: get yourself a drink and wait for the tracking number. That's all.

Nervous Nellies the retailers on this board for the most part are great and do their best to make us happy . My transactions have been seamless with all of the ones I have done business with and Tenda is one of them. Put your correct order in and wait these guys always come through. The level of phone calls and e-mails have been over coming now days with the volume of business these retailers have to handle.

Think you are confused. the email they send you with a reference number is just an update. I always get one when I order restricted from Gotenda and I have never needed to call anyone. Does the email from Gotender specifically say you need to call the CFP? Or are you just assuming ?

Well I've never had a business email the reference number before and telling me it has been submitted and we will ship after complete.

I definitely had to go through the motions and complete the transfer when I called regarding the ref number. Would they not know lol if it was already sent to CFO?

Still very odd

I have! For example GPtactical, GoTenda and Nordic Marksman all did in the last month with my restricted and I didnt jump the gun thinking I needed to call anyone

I physically went to tenda last week to buy my AR and they were packed with people. I have bought a restricted from them before and there was zero issues. Im willing to bet this bill c-71 crap has left them very very busy. Im sure in a few weeks we'll all have our new toys. No problem

Thanks for all the input guys. As I said it was my mistake as I've never received a transfer number from a retailer before.

My first time dealing with them.. as I said other then that concern they seem like a great company. They have good prices anyways.

Still no transfer yet but I read today that the RCMP is receiving around 1800 restricted transfer on a erage a day now lol so ya it's to be expected

I have ALWAYS called the CFO when either buying or selling any type of gun whether it be a long gun or restricted. This inevitably speeds up the process of the transfer every time.

Calling the CFO now gets you a message that they are too busy to answer. They dont even put people on hold.
I called them last friday around lunch time. They were very helpful and told me that my ar transfer with tenda is in the works. Coincidentally, my two private pistol transfers went through that same day. The Ontario cfo emailed me all my info and I had my hardware in my hands less than an hour later. Even when I called them waiting for my licence they were mostly helpful. Same with tenda. I've called them twice in the last week and a half for a purchase and a question and they answered right away and helped me.
I guess I've been on a hot streak lol. Day #8 of my AR wait time from them.

It was taken down because it's fake. Dont fear monger dude. There is no source or reference and all legit sites have removed this as fake news

Thank you to all who contributed to this thread, I too am waiting on a transfer for an ar I bought at tenda, I was also sent a similar email with reference number included, and was wondering the same as this is only my second restricted purchase (my first restricted purchase from a business )and am still getting used to the transfer process, after reading g this thread, all my questions are answered. I'm just going to be patient!
This forum is such an awesome resource for navigating the world of canadian firearms ownership, thanks again!
