I'm a fan of Lone Wolf hang-ons. They are not cheap, but they are incredibly durable, silent, and well made. I recommend a harness that includes a linesmans belt for climbing as you go to have both hands free to install the sticks. Use their easy-.hang hook when you get to the hanging the actual stand to make it super easy. I can get three sticks and a stand hung safely in less than 15 minutes now that I've got a routine worked out. I take all three sticks up with me,laid across the linesmans belt as I install each on my way up. The stand is on the ground below me but I have the line that I will use later to haul up my bow clipped to my harness, so when I get to the top of the last stick I put on the easy.hang hook and haul the stand up and strap it on - done without going back down the sticks. One other big time saver on hunt days that means that you're never unclipped is one of the ropes with a sliding prussik knot on it that runs all the way alongside your stick to above your stand. That way, you get there and clip in, climb up, haul up your weapon, sit down and shut up - you're all clipped in and safe from a fall. Anyhow, that's my pitch for hang ons. I'm a solo hunter and get to my hunting spot by canoe, so a ladder stand would be a major pain to transport and to hang alone. The lone wolf stand and sticks has backpack straps and you can take it anywhere you want.
Good luck!
