Go to hunting bullet

I load =

Nosler Partitions/Accubonds
Swift A-Frames/Scirroco's
Barnes TSX/TTSX

I use Accubonds and A-Frames the most and Barnes 6.8mm (270) 95gr TTSX turned my RA XCR-L from a 200 yard deer rifle into a 350 yard deer rifle = it is the only hunting bullet I use in it now.

Have never had, nor seen, a Hornady Interlock "fail". I have, however, seen them kill an awful lot of animals.

That said, I've become rather enamoured with the Hornady Interbonds for game under the 600 lb mark -- after taking over 40 critters with them, my impression is that they combine signficant expanded diameters (the only .270 bullet I recovered had an expanded frontal diameter of 0.68") with surprisingly high weight retention (95%+).

For bigger stuff, or for a shoot-everything-under-any-circumstance bullet, I've got a lot of respect for the TSX. I do think that the Interbonds put things down a bit more dramatically, but the extra penetration offered by the TSX can be a real blessing at times.

Of course, as I said in the beginning, the Interlock is one hell of a performer. Truth is, in a "conventional" cartridge with a muzzle velocity under 3000 fps, I really don't think there's much need to be shooting a more expensive bullet than that. Probably 98% of the kills I've made over the years could have been made just as effectively with Interlocks.

In the end, I know that everyone here has a shelf or two of part-full boxes of bullets. It's the mark of a serious handloader. Gun Nuts have bullets for rifles that they no longer own. Rifle Loonies have bullets for rifles that they have never owned!

I've witnessed quite a few big game animals go down from Barnes TSX and MRX (blue tipped) ..Used in my friend's 270, 300 WM, and 338 WM. We never had to track any of them ..

You had to say it, didn't you? You just had to go ahead and do it!

Ok so here's my fluke group from Thurs. at the range sighting in my new load for my X-bolt in 300 wsm using a IMR 4350, and a 168g ttsx. Range was 200m shot off my bulls bag, measures 1/4" so that should be about 1/8moa by my math :D

Didn't duplicate it, but no groups went over 1/2 moa at 200m although I opened her up at 300m, but was standing and resting on sheet of plywood.

Hang her up bud...no where to go from there but downhill

Accubonds & partitions. I don't like the performance of Barnes bullets. Depending on caliber & velocity core lokt and Hornady interlock work very well
