Gobble Gobble!

Just got a call from my Ma while having a s**tty day in the University library. One big 'ol turkey was within site of our house (hunting property) strutting around a few other turkeys (not sure if they are male or female). She has also heard gobbling along with myself (when i'm home) in other parts of the property.

Turkey course saturday- hopefully some dead turkeys on the 26th!

If they are strutting, they are toms.

I also get regular phone calls about turkeys everywhere, but when I show up, they are gone.

I'm the same boat. We have about 20 turkeys that hang around my property all winter/spring. They eat bird seed off the ground that the birds from from the feeder. Had about 5 toms out 50 yards from the house all this week during the rain. They did the same last year. Until about April 20th they decide to leave for greener pastures and I never see another bird all spring. Its not like I want them to stick around my backyard to I can make it an easy hunt, its like they leave the entire 100 acres altogether. kind of a piss off.
