I've been shooting Goex Clear Shot powder for several years and am almost out of it. The Quadeville Rendezvous tomorrow will probably use up my last bit.

I LOVE this Goex Clear Shot powder! I can shoot all day without cleaning out the barrel, I can leave my musket overnight if I want to without worrying about rust.
And it cleans up just like smokeless powder.

I understand that Goex no longer makes Clear Shot - a fire/explosion in the plant?

Is there any other replica powder that even comes close to Clear Shot for ease of cleaning up etc.?

What about Jim Shockley's Gold powder?

Shockey's is clean, but velocities and POI are inconsistent.

Blackhorn 209 is the cleanest there is out there, but requires 209 ignition and a tight fitting sabot. If you are shoting a PRB, or conical, it will likely not work.

Personnally, I shoot Pyrodex in my sidelock (TC Hawken) and BH 209 in my inline (TC Encore).

I shoot goex black, and have tried pyrodex select, both consistant, but black to me gives much better accuracyand velocities in my guns, pyrodex select and RS re gd to, ihave small amount of 2f clearshot, i find its "weak" not near the bang, with me black powder rules
