Well, that was a waste of time.
I arrived at the field, had to park on the road, walked in with my back to a wind so strong the ice from my boots went skittering across the field.
Oh yes, the ice, not enough to hold me up, just enough to go CRUNCH, CRUNCH, CRUNCH.
I was pissed off, but I figured I would settle in my tree, and wait it out.
NOPE.
I have to cross the municiple drain about twenty feet from my stand, that's a short hop. Except today.

The damned thing has swelled to fifteen feet wide, and I can't get to my stand without trespassing.

I decide to work my way upwind along the drain to find either a crossing point, or a place for a ground blind.
GOLD! I find a deer crossing point! and set up near by. Lots of tracks!
But it's no good, the wind continues to build. Soon the trees are swaying, and branches are falling. It starts to snow. Time to F Off.
The trip out was a bastard. Wind driving stinging snow in my eyes so I could not see.
All is not lost though, i can still go back this afternoon, and the new spot is a real good local for a tree stand next year.
