so I am finally ready to jump on to my first AR15 and would really appreciate some advice on what brand and specially barrel length.

Pro's and cons on 10" , 14" 16" barrels is what i am really interested in.

Currently looking into the DD MK 18 or the DD M4 Carbine V5 thats on sale at wolverine

My budget is $1800.00

Go with the one you like the look of... Barrel length for most people doesn't matter.

However, if you plan on competing in the states (or bringing your guns to the states, 16" is better to avoid SBR regulations)

A quick google search will tell you all about barrel length and velocities

The mk18 is really nice, if that's what turns your crank go for it. If $1800 is your budget and want to put an optic on it remember to factor that in as well. Personally when it comes to ar-15's I like the shorter barreled guns. I've had them in all sizes but I always end up shooting the 11.5"
