View attachment 462957As eveverbody is going stir crazy staying at home, i decided to go out for some bunnies.I got a new to me truck this friday and its a stinker, diesel that is..Loaded the beretta over under 12 and all my gear in the back seats and hit the road..I was feeling all hopped up and ready to go as the fuel light says im close to empty.so i pull into the corner esso and fill up.might as well get a car wash as im at it and pull into the bay .doors close in back and i hear a big thud.....its in soak cycle and the arm that goes around the car is wedged on the back of my truck...water spraying everywhere .. i wait for attendent look at my bill for phone number and nada nothing, honk the horn no one..i go on google and accidently call the esso on the otherside of the street.same owners turns out. I explain im stuck in carwash and its been half an hour... fumes from diesel are getting to me as the sign says dont turn off motor..F that im chocking so i turn off motor and owner comes. shuts off wash and tells me to move out forward.. well the dryer is stuck in down position and my truck is too tall to get out going forward as i have a cap on.I inch forward to get arm of the back of the cap and its stuck in that position. They have the sign that says max 7 ft with a hanging stick which truck fit without touching as the truck was aparently almost 7 ft tall.long story backed truck out and got on road 2 hours later.. Still dizzy from fumes.I go to my spot and the first bunny bolts and i miss..keep walking in the fresh air and i dont feel so good, another bunny bolts under brush and im too slow. I guess the fumes got to me so i head back to truck and call it a day, My heads pounding.get home have a soup and rest..Bunnies 2 me 0 with a spliting head ache ....Should of stayed in bed..Going out on weekend again this time no car washes...

Car washes aren't made for crew cab trucks, even without a cap. I know someone else that got stuck with an F250 when the big door came down on his back bumper.

You have carbon monoxide poisoning. Lucky you didn't pass out and die.

Thanks for the morning laugh :)

Glad you made it out alive.

I've got a stinker as well, big 2007 sprinter diesel..
Is anything one could do to get it to stink less??

My advice to the OP is to wash your hands of this high pressure incident and move on. And ditch the diesel truck for a deus ex machina.

If the temps are warm enough for road salt to cause corrosion, I do. Especially if I know Im not going to be traveling much in that vehicle.

True, getting the salt off is important depending on where you live... I often forget about salt, I live in Greater Vancouver and its barely used around here so its not really something to be concerned with, especially because it'll be raining in a day or two anyways...

Washing a week old truck right before heading out to go hunting though? Seems like the sort of thing you would want to do AFTER the hunt, not before?

Lol. Wasn’t your day. Washing the truck before hunting makes about as much sense as wiping before you poo.

LMFAO thats a hell of a way to put it!

Wash truck in middle of winter, laugh my ass off.
If you had any idea of how much salt and brine they pour on the roads here you would understand. They go very heavy with it around here. I bet I could go in front of my house right now and shovel up close to a half bushel in a couple hundred square feet.
I used to wash my truck every day in the winter. Now I try to leave it parked as much as I can and use the car,
