Not sure what to expect here as I am relatively new to target shooting, so your feedback and/or experiences would be appreciated.

I have now fired about 900 rounds (moly-coated bullets) through my .223 Rem match grade barrel.

If I were to switch to regular (non moly-coated) bullets; should I expect a significant change in performance? Can it be harmfull in any way?

In theory, you should see an increase in velocity for the same load of powder, but there should be no reason for a change in accuracy if using the same type of bullets.

There are absolutely no detrimental effects from switching to non-moly.

The ideal load will now use less powder when using uncoated bullets.

Excessive pressures could occur if you didn't reduce your loads.

The moly will eventually wear out of the bore which will change how it shoots over that period of time.

Best to get some JB and scrub out the bore to bare metal before working up a load with uncoated bullets.

There is no issue going back and forth. Just have to load differently.
