Going old school for 2013

great looking pile of parts, should come together nicely, solid choice on the .222 aswell, a friend just snagged a rifle chambered for it and i'm quite impressed with it.

I'll let you drive it once.............but you have to wear white gloves and a bib............oh.....and then you can handle the fleet

just once? better give me atleast 3 rounds so I can show you just how capable this rifle really can be. (I kid I kid, but maybe one day)

3 round groups prove nothing...............your going to have to shoot 10 shot groups if you want in our club..........
off topic but the BSA CF2 stock is in the mail...............your going to have a few rifles to sample on range day.......

I agree 3 rounds is not enough, but I feel bad shooting off a bunch of other people's taylored reloads.
Looking forward to it, I just wish I could bring something interesting to show off too.

Speaking of old school, I have a heavy varmint .222/Hart 1A/Hart barrel, screwed into a walnut stock, 24X Leupold on top. Accompanied by a Hart sleeved/Hart barrelled/boosted Leupold/ 6x47 light varmint in a synthetic stock. Included with them was a little arbor press and the dies for both rifles.

You guys are getting me all worked up again. My roots with BR was the .222 and all the articles I read back in the day.
Warren Page's book will get you all warm and fuzzy with loads of info on the .222 and 6x47 BR cartridges.
I'm just an old fart who was around before the PPC came about.

I might have some Norma brass in 222, a few new pieces and a pile of once fired if you are interested. None of the necks have been turned. FS

A couple old school rifles, 222 in a sleeved 600 Rem and a 222 Rem Mag in a 700 Rem. Great shooters, that now spend their time gathering dust. Last time ammo was loaded for 222 mag was 1996.

I got the call last night.............the barrel has been installed......where is that little dancin' banana now when I need it???

Going to pick it up on Sunday, get everything ready on Monday and hopefully take it to the Range when Tammy is at work....hehehe, but thats okay because she gets to drive it both Saturday and Sunday..........

And there she sits...........

Definately a brute with a zero taper 1.25 inch barrel....but well balanced, well until you hold it up and think that you can shoot it off hand

Weaver T36 looks right at home perched on top of it, 55 rounds of work up loads all set and ready to go, going with the time tested and proven 10 thou jump, winchester western brass, necks turned to 8.5 thou.......Benchmark powder in 0.2 grain loads from starting weigh to max........I just hope there is no wind on Wednesday :dancingbanana:

That is the 3rd Savage F-class rifle on the rack....one is the factory 6br, and the second is a 6br shillen pre fit. This time around I wanted to go without the barrel nut.....and heavy.

I had a tight neck reamer used for this chamber.....and its tight at .245, makes for a lot of neck turning
