Going old school for 2013

My desire was for the .250 neck......but it boiled down to what was on hand or the added wait for another custom reamer........

load developement today with Benchmark powder............22.6grains under a 52 grain bullet looks promising..........

Man that barrel is hawt. How long is it and do you remember the weight? I'd love to try out a similar contour but 28" long, just wondering what kind of weight that would add up too. Based on the density of steel, my higher end estimate says only 6 lbs. As long as it comes in under 22 pounds it's still legal for F-Class right?

The barrel was hovering somewheres between 10-11 lbs uncut and uninstalled. It finished at 27.5" and the rifle itself complete is sitting somewheres between 17-18 lbs. Your math on the steel density it out somewhere. Your about 50% of actual weight.

I have a couple pounds of 8208 and a lot of N133 on hand, I had good luck with the benchmark in the Tikka so old habits are hard to break.

I was going to load up in .3 incremints and luckily had second thoughts and opted for .2, going to load a few more up at that same load of 22.6 and make sure everything is repeatable.....then I have to hand it over to Tam, the deal was if she could carry it from the truck to the firing line then she could take it over.........

I shot with the usual crew today, most of which will be shooting the VISL match this Sunday......they have also seen Tam drive the 6 and 30BR's.....so they might just stay home after seeing the results today........
