The powder check will alert you if you're paying attention - the lockout die will stop the press. I find that the better way - I meant the lockout die when I said "great investment".

My RCBS Lockout die has been shipped. Happily I found one of these in stock at MidSouth. It'll probably get here before my L&L AP.

BTW acrashb, I read your review of the 3 setups several months ago. It was an excellent piece of work and I thank you for it. It helped me decide on the L&L.

Based upon your review of the 3 press setups, I could have as easily gone with a Dillon 650 but all other things being darn near equal, the 1000 free bullets made the L&L choice a no-brainer IMHO.

Please understand though, that if I'm less than 110% satisfied with the L&L I'm going to blame you,,. Just kidding.

I'm pretty happy with my Dillon 550. Calibre changes are pretty quick and simple and it's fast enough for my needs.

The only drawback is the powder measure. I was just loading a batch of .308 with BL-C(2) and I found that the measure tends to leak with this fine-grained ball powder. The charge bar adjustment bolt is pretty Mickey Mouse. There is a brass dial called an MRDial that you will want unless you have several charge bars pre-adjusted for every powder charge you use. It's not a micrometer adjustment, but it sure beats a wrench.

There is a brass dial called an MRDial

This is a well-known issue with the charge-bar type measures (Lee's does the same thing, to a lesser degree) - no way around it.

Regarding the dial, if I still had my Dillon I'd have one of these: http://www.uniquetek.com/site/696296/product/T1231 - with it, you can immediately dial-in a previously-recorded setting. Saves lots of time on caliber changes.
