mrsmitty, that is one amazing looking gun! You cannot go wrong with a Brown, that's for sure. Nothing but quality there. And you know that it will shoot at least as good as it looks, if not better! Congratulations on you purchase!

Sorry for the spelling Ed GCNH,:p:you are infact right it's Baer not Bear,i was in a hurry so i didn't check my spellin'.Some people think or say company's such as Ed Brown are only high end production gun's,but they could not be further from the truth,in one respect they might be different than other custom shops,in that you don't get to pick every detail and part to your spec, but remember they are their own name brand so why would Ed Brown use a Wilson hammer for example. Also i would point out that half or more of these "Custom Shops"use Wilson or Ed brown parts probaly anyways,as they are a favorite among seasoned gunsmith's,so an Ed Brown in my opinion is no less "Custom" just because Ed Brown uses his own part's.Then i would look at the method of fitting these pistols have(Ed Brown,Wilson Les Baer) and i can tell you there is nothing "Semi-Custom" about them.Frames and slides are handlapped, just like a "custom".Outside of Barrel bushing is hand lapped to slide,as well the inside diameter of bushing to barrel,is handlapped, barrel lugs are carefully hand filed one at a time, you get to pick finish(blueing,stainless,chrome,rollmarks/no rollmarks). In my opinion there is hardly anything semi-custom about these pistols, they exude a "Custom" personality all the way.

My 1911

My vote goes to Night Hawk Custom. They are extremely flexible and will build in just about feature you want in many different finishes and colours. They have the best customer service in the business according to many posters on the 1911 forum. Consider a lifetime transferable warranty and a "can do" corporate attitude. They have three distributors in Canada including Ellwood Epps who were my choice. Beauty, fit and finish are outstanding. Add to that new and exciting products to keep your addiction nicely fed.

Here is my Predator II

Wilson has lifetime warranty as well transferable to future owners (As long as you don't mod the pistol)
