Im just wondering if Im going to have enough elevation adjustment I shoot a Pgw coyote in 308. I have the 25Moa rail topped off with a Schmidt and Bender 5-25x56. the scope says 1 click=0.1Mil i have a it zeroed at 100 yards not and if i dial the scope all the way up it goes up to about 23Mil's. Now I'm shooting the federal gold medal 175gr and 168gr rounds. will i have enough elevation to reach out to 900m. also if anyone can make ballistic charts with click adjustment listed it would be most appreciated. I tried a couple of the free ones Ive found but they only go to 500 yards

if i remember corectly i used about?( dont quote me) 36-40 moa from 100-1000 and that would equate to roughly 10 mils so i think your fine!!!

have fun!

23mil x 3.439MOA/mil = 80MOA I assume this is the full travel of the scope.

Divide the 80MOA by 2 since the scope is normally made to be mounted at mid travel. That gives you 40 MOA of elevation which for the bullets you listed and is already enough to get you to 900m. Add the 25MOA base will give you 65MOA elevation. That should get you out to around 1200m or more in most cases.

As for a drop chart, asking for one on line is not a very good idea. For the amount of money you have already spent I'd suggest you buy a good ballistics program like exbal and slow down a little and learn how to use it to come up with your own drop chart. There are many factors to shooting long range and for even the best long range shooter with a personalized really well done drop chart will only get them close to the target.

I certainly hope so.

At an estimated 2650fps from your gun with the 175gr you shouldn't need more than about 12.5 mil elevation to hit 1000m. That scope was designed for medium to long range sniper weapons. A 308 wont touch the elevation on that scope.

Now, if you bought badger rings for your gun/scope, get them lapped before you mount that nice scope. My 34mm badger rings were machined like crap when I got them. If I mounted my S&B before lapping I would have buggered the scope.

Shoot and enjoy, you got some good gear.

You've got a kick ass rig worth over $10,000 and you don't know if you'll have enough elevation to reach 1000 yds, or have the gumption to download a free ballistic program?

Back in high school guys used to buy shiny new skateboards, dress in baggy clothes and pack the board around trying to hang out with the real skaters...they called them "Posers"....
