I did & dammed near bankrupted myself doing it too. I have one more krop carbine on hold at epps & then thats it for a while at least. I got this one as a consolation gun to get over the port k98 I missed by one phone call at the shootist.

I know how you feel, after comming home from the Calgary easter show practically empty handed I started searching through the EE trying to find something to buy! :runaway:

Ok, now I know what all the fuss is about. I took it out to the range & blasted away with surplus ammo at 50yrs(range was too busy to try 100). As the pics show there is some serious potential here, I dont think I spent more than two minutes shooting each target & this is way better than I usualy do the first time out with a new rifle.

Cast?

Interesting!
I see you shoot cast gas-checked bullets.
What mould do you use? any recipe?
I'm very much tempted to shoot all my surpluses with cast. I just bought a good lot of fresh 7,62x54R brass and I intend in allocating my shooting Mosins about 100 clean shells to fireform and keep with each one.

The bullet was form an experimental batch eg gas check vs no gas check. I have only played around with light loads of pistol powder as I keep forgetting to buy powder for cast. The bullet came out of a lee mould & I have used it in all my 311 bores. It even shot well out of my "bore challenged" rifles. Its the only hope for my m-39 as the bore is well used.
