going to be in Puerto Vallarta for my sisters wedding April 20th -27th, wedding is on the 22nd. I'm not finding anything that's up-to-date about hunting of any sort in the Puerto Vallarta region other then out-of-date hits to do with duck/dove hunting. does anyone happen to have any more solid leads that my brother and I could look into for a day hunt or anything?

thanks!

I'm the brother that's going and other then kayaking and the wedding I'd love to try my hand at some duck/dove hunting as it's about the only chance I'll get to hunt in a different county.

Been in the same boat a couple years ago.
My buddy got married there and a whole bunch of us went down to the same town you'll be at. Stayed at the Reiu resort I think it was...I did not look into hunting too hard but did ask around and there were no turkey there that the locals knew of, or wild boar.
Maybe I talked to the wrong folks there. It never hurts to ask what might be available.
The resort had BBgun shooting every morning:D (I kicked ass) with tourists walking by and watching not more than 20 feet away.
Dont forget to take a bus ride into town and watch the bull fights, if you've never seen one, it's awesome.

I found the bloodydecks website too and sent in a message...have to see what happens there. I'm checking out that other one. found a site that was last updated in 2003, but there it was saying $260 to get the firearms license and $120 to get the hunting licenses + whatever for 1 day dove/duck hunting. not sure if I'm ready for something that steep...

I lived in Mexico for 10 years full time and I can tell you it's not easy. Don't get caught trying to sneak any sort of firearm across the border into Mexico.

Lots of dove hunting in northern Mexico but you have to go thru a licensed outfitter and be prepared to spend mucho dinero (lots of cash).

I have visited PV many times and seen the occasional fish duck but lots of pelicans. Personally just enjoy your visit, drink lots of cerveza fria and margaritas.

The BB gun shooting on the beach is a hoot if you're in a hotel that sponsors it.

Have a great trip!

Did you think they were going to offer their services for free? What did you expect to pay for a day hunting with an outfitter?
