Hi i have been reloading for rifles for a few years now and wanting to start for 10mm and .357mag now . Found everything i need except powder ? Were can i find a dealer that has a suitable powder in stock because all the CGN dealers have been sold out for months ? Would like to find a powder that will work for both calibers , flipping through my reloading manual seems like Blue Dot will work fine for both ? Just can seem to find any lol

To be honest, good luck. I've only been reloading for about 6 months now and finding pistol powder is a chore. I pretty much buy whatever I can find, try not to be to picky. First powder I found was IMR 4756, it works for all my pistol loads, .45ACP,.40S&W and .357 magnum. It's a decent powder and works for me, I also recently picked up some HS-6. Yet to try that out, luckily a pound of pistol powder can last quite awhile.

I believe Lawrys got some powder in last week. Not sure what they got in stock for pistol powder though. If you're not withing driving distance, it'll get expensive in a hurry. About $150 to ship across Canada.

depending on the pistol :)

tightgroup, w231/hp38, unique, universal, 700-x, AA#2, hs-6, bullseye are all powders i've used for pistol rounds, the first 2 being my favourite powders for 9mm and 45acp.

if your wanting some full power loads from your 357mag you will want h110/w296, lilgun or 2400 powder. AA1680, imr 4227, and h4227 are good for moderately full power.

i'm set for powder for a while, but when i go into a store i have a list of powders i can use with me on my phone. although these days it's easier to ask/see what they have in stock lol.

You're absolutely right, it depends on the gun. So far I've only used the IMR SR 4756 in my .40 and .45 and I have zero complaints. I've to to try it for the .357/.38special.

I'm the same way when I go powder shopping. There's no point asking for your specific powder, it's easier to just ask " what ya got?".

Magnum Gun in Lloydminster had a pile of powder yesterday, I actually managed to find some HS-6 there. 47.99$ a lb though....

There's the reason why it's in stock Lol. Gagnon had a decent selection (i think all were rifle powders) including 4759. Grabbed 2 lbs at 36.99 each. That's the most I've ever paid for powder.

I just grabbed a lb of titegroup at the Cabelas in Regina for $29. I haven't tried it out before but it sounds like I should've picked up 2 or 3 lbs...
