Going to weld up my own guns

This post was stared back in March, And I see you are back.
From what you say,I would think that you are beening give
wrong information.
Having more than one pal is NOT against the law.
If you let your 12-6 expire, than you can have problems
BUT , I know 3 fellows that never got there renewals in time,
and still got to keep ther guns.
I also know one fellow that had his renewal sent without his 12- 6
and 12-5 class one it and never noticed it untell he went to buy a
12-6 from me, We talked to CFC and in 10 minutes, it was fixed
and the deal was done. I find that if you don't loss your cool and
be nice on the phone ,that I don't have to much trouble.
You never really answered my question back in March why you
lost your 12-6???
If they printed out your new pal with out 12-6 , that doesn't
mean anything- your are still 12-6 if you have always had these guns.
But if you ever sell all of them, than you are screwed.
A lot of lawyers don't know #### about the firearms laws and just care
about there fees- thou there are a few Good ones that stand up for
us. NFA is a stating point. and you can do it with out a lawyer.
I know someone that went all that way to the Supreme court on 12-2
you full auto guys will know who I am talking about. He Won!!!!!!!

I forgot on my last rant to tell
you that you can get the rules
for dewat from the CFC, it has changed
in last year or so.
Main thing is that a hard steel rod has
to be welded in the chamber and cylinder
or chamber cut and welded. I use to do F.A
so the bolt would fall, but I don't think
you can do that now, been a while since
I have done one . If you are not licenced or
a varifier, rcmp would probley want to check
them out after the welding.
 
I wonder how many of you people in this thread that are calling him a loser, thumping your chest and saying I would fight forever,etc,etc had 12(6) class firearms and went to court and fought to keep them.
I did..and it wasn't pleasent.
It's all well and good to say you'll fight tooth and nail but that takes a damn good lawyer who is very familiar with the firearms act..lets see..isn't there someone doing that already....

Ya, that's the guy. Any of you willing to pay the price he is to keep a handgun that isn't worth more then $300 on the market right now?
 
If you drill out the firing pin hole as large as the hammer recess allows and then insert a steel pin in from the muzzle through this hole and weld it in place neatly and at the muzzle weld it solid... and then let the hammer down and very neatly weld the rear of the hammer to the frame... you have a perfectly legal deactivated firearm. A combination of Mig and Tig are the best way.

And as earlier stated anyone can do the paperwork...

Welding up your paperweights is not the bitter end. Having them come to your door to collect them would be.

Like marshal indicates, some info seems to be missing here.
 
It's disappointing to see that someone who fought and lost his 12(6) fight in the court of law now has to go through another trial in the CGN Kangaroo court of public opinion.

I lost the battle for my 12(6) but they did "allow" me to keep my Grandfathers 32 colt auto as a 12(5) .This gun I have owned,papered for many years 15+....The four 12(6) guns did not get welded up, but did go to a fellow CGN'r, and the Colt Border Patrol is also still in my possession, papered.....The only way that I was able to keep my Grandfathers Colt 32 was to "bargain" with the CFO...12 Years ago,I sold 12 Colt hand guns (5 of them would have been12(6) to a fellow collector in the States, All T's crossed and I's dotted on the paperwork. It seems that the CFO still had records of the guns in my possession! When informed that the guns were sold 12 years ago, and that I had retained all the paperwork of the transfers, He told me to fax it through to his office, so he could clear up the lost records.This was my only leverage, He said that if I were to send him the feather for his cap(the missing 12 colts paperwork) He would change his decision on my Grandfathers Colt, But not on my 12(6) class....I am confident that his job is to disarm the Law Abiding Canadian Citizen to the best of his ability.
 
Ive had a run-in with the CFC on that same topic of lost information also, but it resulted in them saying that i had a warrant out for me, and a record to my name, so every time I bought a firearm it came up red-flaged. the kicker is the warrant and the record was in newfoundland, and after numerous record checks and visits to the RCMP to clear it up, it took almost 2 years to get it sorted out. ive never been to NFLD, i live in alberta, I posses a restriced licence and a year round permit to transport, all before this happened. i had to wait over 2 weeks for an SKS to clear. you are totally right, they dont care. they dont want you to have a gun, period. and its extremly frustrating waiting on the phone for hours a day, and then be cool to the person on the other line. good to hear you still have the colt, a sentimental firearm is something worth fighting for, even if its evil scrap iron to the authoritys.
