Whaaa? Really? That seems kinda off......awesome though.

Does anyone have any more information on this kind of thing?

Universal Firearms

Universal Firearms Corporation was a company in Hialea, Florida, USA, that manufactured or assembled M1 Carbines and sold them to the public back in the 1960s era.

They also made a pump action version, as seen on the gun box behind the Carbine. They had several versions, and you could get a nickle or gold plated one.

I seem to remember that they made a .44 Magnum version of the pump gun, but I could be mistaken on that one. There was also a short barreled one called the Enforcer.

The Gold Plated one shown is the 30 M1 - BG ( Universal Firearms model designation)

ADDENDUM I was curious on this one so "googled - Universal Firearms Corp."
There is a great website devoted to the Universal Firearms production, and has lots of good information on these.

There was ( maybe still is ) a company in the U.S. that on a regular basis uses to make & sell special versions of different guns. 1911A1's, M1 Carbines etc. Guns that had some significance.
Some had engraving, some had gold leaf lettering , presentation boxes and so on
I think that they were made in limited numbers. I remember seeing ad's in Guns & Ammo.
This may be one of them.

The wierdest thing I saw was a No1Mk3 with gold plated bits, a high polish blue job, a stock that looked like it had been varnished, and some WW2 commerative medallion inletted into the buttstock. (for sale in a glass fronted case.):D

Back in the 80's when I hung around Can Am Enterprises, he had a gold plated Colt Revolver and a 1911. He said they were selling for $10,000 a piece.
Today I suppose 20-30 grand could be the asking prices. Gold plated are rarely seen.
* Thought I would also mention the revolvers tend to flake after a lot of use.

Coloured firearms

It is all what sells, and the USA has a huge market. Most people have seen the Remington 572 Fieldmasters in different colours, such as Crow Black, Teal and Buckskin. High Standard made coloured revolvers, and even Colt turned out some single shot derringers that were coloured. And that is only a few.

Plated firearms are common with Military Drill and Parade Teams, and I have seen plated Number 4 Lee Enfields and 1903 Springfields used by them.

Imagine one of the Milsurp boys telling you he just picked up a nice M1 Carbine, to which you could answer, "Yeah, come on over to my house and I'll show you my Gold Plated one." The ultimate one-upmanship of gun collecting! :)

Did someone here on Gunnutz pick up the WW2 Inland carbine with correct site and no bayonet mount also on downeasttrading? Just curious what the price was, been looking for one like that, but I was too slow.

Thanks!
