I’ve used old logging truck brake drums as well as passenger truck sized drums and car drums. There free from most auto savage yards and they have varying sized holes in the center that you can weld a plate on the back side with a hinge so they flap when you hit them. Also they make quite a nice ding sound when you hit them. And did I mention there free from most salvage yards.
