I've got a gong set up at 630yd, two actually. The first is 6", the second is 16".
I wanted to see how I could do with my XCR, using surplus 7.62x39, against the 16" gong. Not overly impressive but it sure was fun.

The first pic is self explanatory. It's my rifle :).

#2 is a good view from the line, it shows the valley I'm shooting over. It's a 2 hour hike round trip when you shoot the chain and break it .

And #3 is zoomed in on the gongs. As close as I can zoom anyways.

I had 3 attempts on vid, this was my best effort ;).

All in all a great day.

Happy Fathers Day, thanks for looking.

Regularly hitting a 16" dia. target at 630yds with 7.62x39 with a stock xcr? I think you should be very happy! Well done.

Thanks guys.

Good eye, yes it's a Hi-Lux 1-4x24 CMR 762. The scope is not ideal for 600yd :). It's sitting in a Burris QD P.E.P.R. , both purchased at Wanstalls.

The ammo tin reads;
7.62 nc (backwards 7)c. 0GP.43
X10-66-17

It's just plain old 7.62x39 surplus.

That there is samsquatch country! ;)

shooting up at harrison?

Nope and nope. That there be the world famous Sylvester Rd.
My son and I spent a little over an hour raking up before we could shoot. I've never seen this spot as bad as it was. We'll see how it is next week.
On a good note, a group of ~12 off-roaders saw us raking up and stopped to thank us. To say "we" are not liked by "them" is a gross understatement.

Super Vid !

Now that's a great day / good shooting!

Thanks abby

It's a nice looking setup, what's the cost on an optic rig like that

Thanks, the scope retails $400 and the mount $130. Craig at Wanstalls was very good to me. :)

This is round 2 with the scope, the first one lasted 29 days before a seal popped out. It's too early for me to recommend this scope ;). Hopefully it was a fluke.
