Gonna start reloading... .500 S&W

H110 / Lil'Gun for the tyrannosaurus loads

4759 or your array of .223 powders for mid loads

Trail Boss for the powder puffs...

I found that the highest MV's (for the heavier bullets) can be achieved with powders a bit slower than H110 and Lil'Gun, i.e. SR4759, H4198, H322, H335, WC-735, etc.

All loads are in the NEF Handi-Rifle with the Lee 440 gr cast (and a long OAL of 2.275") but they would all be fine with the Berry's 350gr jacketed, in fact you could go to 43.0 grs of H110 and 42.5 grs of H4227, and full cases with the other powders I listed (which would be about the same as I used for the 440 gr cast, since your OAL will be much shorter if used in a revolver).

These are all either max loads, and/or full cases:

H110 - 38.0 grs - 1750 fps (Magnum Primer)

H4227 - 37.0 grs - 1640 fps

SR4759 - 40.0 grs (full) - 1850 fps (very accurate, SD of only 10 fps on five shots)

IMR4198 - 47.0 grs (full) - 1780 fps

Reloder 7 - 50.0 grs (full) - 1650 fps

WC-735 (surplus ball powder sold by Higginsons that is similar in burn rate to H322) - 60.0 grs (full) - 1860 fps (Magnum Primer)

BLC-(2) - 58.0 grs (full) - 1420 fps (Magnum Primer) - very accurate

This thread makes me want to go out and buy a S&W 500... Not good at all. I can't justify buying another restricted or something that is too much 'gun'.

I have S&W 629 already and I find it producing plenty of oomph. I don't need more but just having an even more powerful handgun just sounds so cool. Reloading and casting boolits would be so cheap.

My indoor club doesn't allow 500 magnum.. But my outdoor one does.

Maybe one day. But I want to get a 30-06 or 300WSM rifle first, once Harper kills the LGR and maybe a create of mint condition Russian SKS as an investment b/c I think silver is still too much right now. haha
