I also have a CZ Varmint, and without breaking the bank, it might be difficult to find a more accurate 22.

I know I'm going to feel really foolish here, but what is an "FS" Hoytcannon?Since you already have the CZ Varmint and talk about "grousing" I would just go with a lighter CZ configuration... If "minute-of-grouse head" is your bench mark, then "extreme" accuracy is not required... At grousing distance (10-30 yards), most bolt actions can take out the eye with preferred ammo. Even better, choose a compact low profile scope and put it on an FS... Walking the forest with an FS just feels "right."
Not to hi-jack this thread but....which "quality" bolt rifle has the "best" iron sights for "grousing" range (10-30yrds)?
