Good .223 bolt gun

The Tikka Varmint Stainless is an incredible shooter, it has a 1:8 twist and a 26" heavy barrel for under a $1000.00.
I have not seen one yet that would not shoot .5 MOA or less even with the really heavy bullets necessary for coyotes.

I was looking at buying a savage model 12bvss a while ago, it seems like a solid target rifle, heavy barrell and heavy stock. about $800 or so. but then I handled a tikka t3 lite and thought it was nice too. I still haven't decided...

I seen the Tika 3 a few days ago & I liked it. Do the 1:9 twist only come in haevy barrels ? I don't want a gun that weights over 7 pounds.
I will not use for varmit hunting Only for an occasional 4 gun match & for some fun at the range & for the kids to shoot once in a while.

I probably will never take a shot passed 300 yards, but do want accuracy at 300. so i need a twist smaller than 1:12 ?

from what i've read so far, it seems like the Tikka & rem. are known for better accuracy & savage is next.

This Steves sounds like a good deal, but is it just o.k. cause of it's price ?
I don't mind spending a few more bucks for quality, just not too much $ for an occassional use gun.

Should be picking up my new Bar .300 win mag in a week or so, for my first moose hunt this fall.
