Good .577 load

last week i acquired a pedersoli enfield musketoon in .577. looking forward to trying it out. first time with this calibre.
any recommendations for bullet weight and powder charge?

Going RB or Minie type? Apparently the Minie style is tough to get to work well in Sniders... I'm assuming this Musketoon will have somewhat the same 1-60" twist or such?

i have a line on some minie hollow base bullets. i can't rember the weight.

There really isn't a standard weight/size for .577 that will be a go to when it comes to these kinda things. You'll have to measure out your barrels lands/grooves and size your bullets accordingly, anything beyond that will be further experimentation.

I've been running a Pedersoli P53 and my barrel measured out to .587 rather than the advertized .577. My gun ended up really liking a 620 gr shallow skirt slug that packs a fair wallop with around 64 grains of 2fg. Tried more traditional 420gr minies but never could get them to shoot straight.

My son and I played the Snider game, it can be maddening.
Interweb says you are at 1:48 twist, that's definitely Conical / HB territory... good luck on the quest and keep us updated pls.

best load that I used was with a RCBS Mini the skirt is thicker and it loved a load of 57gr 2fg Goex you do not need a heavy charge for the minis to perform well
