Good 6.5X55 load

I tryed a new load in the 6.5X55 today. A rebarreled 96 action. 140 Hornady SST with 44gr of Hybrid 100V. It shot 3/4 inch at 100 yards at 2700fps. I think I found a good hunting load.

I did pretty good with the 140 SST and 42gr of BL-C(2), and 42gr 4895.

The 6.5 needs a slow powder. 4895 is much too fast. I suggest 4350 as the fastest powder that works well and prefer 4831SC, RL22, and H1000.

47gr RE #22 /140 gr is very accurate as well, as is 42 gr IMR 4350 or N-204 with the 156-160gr bullet in the mausers........Harold
