i am looking for a good and proven +p load for the 9mm in 115 grn. the loading manuals do not show any. thanks for looking.

Found this on AmmoGuide. I have no idea how safe this is, it's a site in which shooters submit their loads, so reloader beware.

View Reloading Data for the
9mm Luger (Parabellum)

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Bullet Weight: 115 gr.
Powder: Blue-Dot 8.4 gr.
Muzzle Velocity 1339
Foot-pounds:458
Pressure: 32300 cup
Barrel Length: 4.0
OAL: 0.997

Load submitted by 'stigma'.
This load was developed using flat-pointed, cast bullets (LY#358345).
In terms of power, the developer considers this a MAXIMUM load.
The velocity measurement is by chronograph.
Federal cases and CCI 500 primers were used in development.

COMMENTS: start at 5.8 and work up.

A Plus P load is just factory ammo loaded hot. Work up a load using the powder from your manual that gives the highest velocity for that bullet weight. The operative words are 'work up a load'.

i have found a little bit of +p brass in my pile and was wondering if there was any data out for this. i tend to stick with the published data, with cup pressure on the +p stuff it looks like it could shake up a 9 in a short time. thank you all for the replys. happy reloading

I shoot 9mm using Rem +P cases. I don't load to +P pressures, as I don't see the need to (my load is 6.5gr HS-6, 124gr. Frontier FP @ 1140fps). Just because it says +P on the headstamp, doesn't mean you have to load it right up. I usually use Win brass, but swapping and using a Rem +P case shows very little difference over my chrony.

I find very little difference in regular Rem 9mm brass and Rem +P brass, they weigh the same, thickness appears about the same. It my be stronger, but I don't push it. There are many published loads pushing 115gr. bullets to about 1250-1300fps with proven powders.

Most of the 9mm major guys use HS-6 or the VV powders. Power Pistol will also get you up there. Work up a load and be safe.

I'm of the opinion of RePete, why? If I want 9mm +P or +P+ I've got lots of factory ammo that I know is in spec. I keep my loads to the book.

With regards to +P brass, this is from the Starline Brass website

9MM+P has no difference from the standard 9mm Luger other than headstamp designation for load segregation. Due to standard case design, will handle +P pressures with no problems.

SAAMI working pressures in PSI

9 mm Luger........35,000
9 mm Luger +P....38,500
