I've noticed that the 50 singles seem to vary a great deal in price in canada. Can someone tell me who makes a good 50 single shot, thats accurate, AND I get to keep my farm?

Hate to say it, but these three words never go together

Good affordable 50 bmg

Even if the rifle's had for a reasonable amount, say $2,500 for a very baseline .50, the glass needed to bring out the .50's potential costs $2,500 again or more. And after all that ammo's at minimum $5 a pop for just mil surp if you can find it. No matter how you cut it, .50's are big money, even if you do everything right (ie. reload, get good deals on used kit, and shoot seldom).

Ardents right..... 50BMG and cheap or economical don't go together. In all reality if you want to do the .50BMG thing right you are looking at dropping around $8000 to start. Factory surplus ammo is running $9.00 and up a pop with 750 grn Amax bullets around $15 a pop. You may save a few pennies reloading, but commponents are still expensive due to the export ban on all things .50 out of the states.

The .50 BMG is something you realy want to do your homework on before making your purchase. Custom built rifles are available for around the same money as factory builts so something else to think about.

The good news is there is no rush like a .50BMG hitting targets at a couple KM's

Yikes

I can't believe you used the words Affordable and 50 BMG in the same sentence !!
Any ways, I'm shooting one of the single shot Prairie Gun Works pieces, if you can get a hold of em, look into it. It shoots absolutely fantastic.

I don't know if he,ll appreciate this but I believe that PGW steve can help you with that.

Mike.

I guess it all depends what you consider affordable. If you're thinking of being able to buy a custom 50 for 5-6k and have fun at the range for $8-$10 a shot you're right in the ballpark. It's not a dayly driver but it's like nothing you have in your arsenal. PM me if you need some more info.

Birdman Weapons systems. One shot .50 BMG. with 1x scope included.
Very affordable :p

Darn the picture and description is off his site.
Basically it was made of balsa wood, used a clothes clip for a firing pin and had a cup with crosshairs for the scope.
