Good budget spotting scope

is your budget $100, $1000 or $3000?

what are you using it for?

I picked up a vortex razor compact (11-33) for just under $1000.
nice glass, warrantied against my kids, adn good enough for what I do at the range or in the field

If I was counting rings on a sheep across the valley it would fall short

Probably sub 500. Im mostly going to be using it when im on the bench, sighting in, and when shooting my cz 22. Probably the best would be buyong used.
 
optics can be tricky
some of the cheaper new stuff si still better than priier old stuff just becasue of improvements in optics coatings and manufacturing

I have heard good things about hte new vortex HD stuff. basically the crossifre HD is as good as the old diamondback et al

and they start at $300 something
 
I have the fixed 20x but with the focus in the eyepiece that I bought of kijjii for 65 bucks. Very good glass back in the day, also build like a tank. Very happy with it, but I wish I could put a reticle in it.
