Good but economical 9mm

Baby Eagle, Browning HP, S&W M&P, Steyr M9 A1. My younger girls shot all of the previous.

Don't confuse that fact a light gun WILL have more felt recoil. My girls like the Baby Eagle because it is muzzle heavy and there is LESS FELT RECOIL. They feel that they have more control of it.

Be cautious of compensated pistols, there will be more muzzle blast which can add to the sensation of recoil for inexperienced shooters.

The Norinco copy of the HI-Power is not even close unlike their CZ85/Sig/1911 guns. I have yet to hear anything good about the gun.

The Hi-Power was a great gun in it's day and has one of the nicest grips ever put on a handgun. That said the grip on my CZ's and Tanfoglio are just as good with infinitely better triggers and are D/A as well. The latter is important if you want to play IDPA/IPSC.

The CZ line is have a reputation for accuracy. Off a rest all my CZ's and Tanfaglio will outshoot my M&P 9MM and any Glock I hve tried. The latter two are great duty guns though and do well in IDPA.

Take Care

Glock 17C has very little muzzle flip and has no buttons or levers to worry about. Just point and click. Also the Beretta PX4 has low recoil due to the rotating barrel. It also has removable straps to fit small to large hands.

Don't forget .22's. Shoot all day for a few bucks.

Glock 17/19 would be my first choice, although the 19 in restricted is getting a little up there in price. The G17's grip isn't very small either.

Secondary recomendations would be either the Sig Pro 2022 or the STI GP6.

I just hit the 5000rnd benchmark in my M&P, not a single FTF or FTE in the 5000...... well thats not entirely accurate.

When I was building a load a 4 months ago I started at min load and worked my way down. The book said 3.6gr was min load and found that with 3 gr. of titgroup pushing a 147gr. LRN would not quite work the action all the way all of the time (FTE 1 out of 3).

I don't count those 10 test rounds in my first bit there...... I got the desired result, I found min load......

That said I would reccomend an M&P, SR9, G17, CZ, Baby Eagle, etc..... Take her out to the range on pistol night, there will be lots of stuff out there for her to see.... Most guys are pretty good about letting you look at their toys. I am personaly responsible for 5 other people buying an M&P, I am always willing to let someone "try a mag".
