The owner is 100% to blame for the dog dying and the driver having to go through emotional hardship for hitting a dog. Make up any excuse and use any whataboutisms you like, it doesn’t change reality. The dog is dead because the owner chose to allow his dog to walk leash free on a public road. No amount of emotion will change that.


My last 2 dogs were waterfowl and rabbit hunting machines that were trained well enough to be walked off leash anywhere. Yet, my human brain knew better than the dogs and knew enough to leash them near roads. Weird how they didn’t die from cars.



Sorry, but I don’t really believe in giving hugs when it was someone’s own stupidity that put them in that spot.

Sometimes YOU just need to shut the eff up. At one time I was giving you the benefit of the doubt and assumed your were on the autistic spectrum and you would miss and could not grasp most of the social cues during normal conversations. Now? I just think you are a downright nasty individual, who, for whatever reason needs to feel superior over others. Guess what? You are not.

To the op and his friend, sad news and just remember that, although Duke's life was short, I am sure he was full of fun and energy and was quite happy.
