16" is the way to go specially for a first AR better chances of being happy with it. I'd have to own 2 16" uppers before anything shorter. Something 12" with a can would be nice haha one can dream.

Congrats! I just got a model 2T as my first AR as well. So far all I added was a Lucid red dot, but I can see much more I'd like haha.

I also just got a 2TR. Took her to the range for the first time on thursday, and couldn't be happier. Unfortunately, I'm already thinking a 1-4x scope may be in my future...

Now I'm impatiently waiting for shipments from Questar (LAR mags) and Wolverine (Magpul AFG2, BAD, ranger plates and trigger guard)
