Good choices for .20 gauge semis.

Waketurd endorses any gun he is paid for. Go read some of his posts at shotgunworld. He contradicts his own "observations" in the same thread as he feels fit. I wonder why anybody believes a word he says. Oh and then there is the bad trigger on all Turkish shotguns just the made in Turkey Mushberg has a better one, lol.

Hi folks, not very knowledgeable about shotguns in general so here goes: Had a chance to hunt a few quails with a friends Weatherby semi .20 gauge polymer gun last fall and REALLY enjoyed it. I also have a 13 yr old that might enjoy getting into some clay or real hunting.

Does anyone know other similar makes and or good places to seek these out?

Any help would be appreciated, thx

So, what did you end up with ?

This is just the topic I was researching this AM. Currently I have an old single shot 20g that I use for grouse. I also have an 870 Wingmaster magnum in 12 gauge. I've had some semi's in the past (all Beretta). Currently I have a Remington V3 Turkey pro in 12g for Turkey hunting. It is a very nice, soft shooting gun. I think it works well for Turkey. Now I am looking for a 20g semi. I don't know if I want to go Rem for this.

Current semis that have caught my attention are:

Benelli M2 in a Gore Optifade Marsh camo pattern (#11198 - 28")
Benelli M2 in Gore Optifade Timber camo pattern (#11078 - 26")
Winchester SX4 Hybrid Hunter

Thoughts?

I picked up a SKB XL900 20 with 26" improved cylinder choke. I have been shooting an XL900 in 12 since I was a kid so always wanted the 20. This one is basically as new and didn't looked to be fired at all. I removed the poly from the stock and it may be the ideal 20 gauge auto. It has a switch to close a gas port when shooting heavy 3" loads and handles light 2 3/4" target loads no problem with both ports open. Well ahead of it's time but not the easiest item to find. I don't use autoloaders in the field anymore and I wish I had found it 20 years ago.

I personally love benelli semi 20g shotguns. So much that I haven't shot a 12g now in 5 plus years. My favorite is my benelli ultralight 20g. I bought it for use as a rabbit/upland gun but it quickly became my go to shotgun, now used for duck hunting as well and sporting clays too. The M2 in 20g will be my next shotgun purcase as the ultralight doesn't come in camo.

I'm leaning more towards the M2. Having a hard time finding it in the colour combo I want right now.
