The CED works good.....I like mine and have no complaints.

I like my old Chrony too....Blast ripped the sky screens and the LCD protective cover off long ago...Never managed to actually shoot it though! :D

Couple years ago I saw a guy carefully set up a brand new Chrony. Then a few minutes later watched with amusment as his buddies called, "UP! UP! UP! BOOM! Slowly the tripod and shredded chrony tipped over as he quite literally shot it for the first time!

Pretty funny stuff and I had a good laugh! :D

When I went over to his smirking friends to offer my sympathy I found out it was his second Chrony in as many shots!
Well that was it and I lost it! My buddies had to help me get up off the concrete floor! I was laughing so hard I was quite literally crying! :D :D

Still makes me laugh!

My "Shooting Chrony" Master Beta works like a charm... Made in Canada as well...

That's what I use, as well, but I've read a lot of reviews saying that for the money (which is about the same as the Shooting Chrony), the ProChrono is better.

The Chrony is made in Canada, though, so that may even the odds.

The most common way to shoot your machine is a high power scope that won't focus close enough to get a good idea where you are aiming.

If you are at a bench, make sure you are aimed over the unit, and see where your cross hairs are on the back stop. Don't shift your bag, and keep aiming at the same point on the backstop.

Another trick is to stretch an elastic band across the V sticks and to put a piece of masking tape on the elastic, in the middle. Now you will have a white blotch to aim at.

My Chrony is about 15 years old. It's had one modification and one minor repair job when I got to close to it and blew out the plastic screen cover. I have had it up against the Gamma and there was no differance in the readings.
The service I got from Chrony was great with nothing more then a $5.00 shipping charge.

Perhaps, but when I bought my chrony it was on a whim and I bought the best one that the shop had.... Down the road I may buy something better but since I can barely make it to the range let alone do any load development lately I am not worried.
