What is a good clay thrower that won't bust the bank? Something that can put two clays up and doesn't need an operator. Although needing to pull a cord would be fine.

Try Matarelli. Hanley sportingclays has them for sale

I have tried googling Materelli, but that seems to be fly fishing.

Hanley sporting clays seems to bring up a range that is Saskatchewan first fully automated trap and lots of sporting clay sites.

Have a link maybe?

Thanks.

Also found the Champion Easy Bird, but again not all that much info on it in Canada. It is about half the price of the Atlas Patriot.
Use would be a couple weekends a month with a couple buddies.

I know it still needs an operator, the Trius One-Step is awesome, and won't break the bank.

I use it by myself when I don't have a throwing partner...

That's pretty much what I was thinking, but after seeing some of the ones on the other links I think I will up my budget. lol

not sure if graham has a website. but you can try this.

Those are way expensive!

I have an Atlas 250. Can't be beaten for the money. Throws 100 yds no problem. Holds 250 targets and throws and throws. No problem.

The 250 might be a bit much for me, but the Patriot looks about perfect! Is there anywhere in Canada that I can order from?

I bought mine directly from Atlas in the states. Scott Manspeaker owns the company, and is easy to deal with. Look it up on the internet and give him a call. Tell him Doug The Canuck from Barrie sent you.

I also have a Champion Easybird . . . I bought it last year but have only used it a few times. It was breaking too many birds when I first got it, so I had to adjust it as per their instructions. It still breaks 1 or 2 birds per stack, and the last bird in the stack usually refuses to drop. For the type of informal shooting I do, I can live with it. It throws birds much farther than my old Outers manual trap and makes shooting alone (which is what I usually do) a lot more fun. One thing I would really like is a voice activated release. Having to step on the release pedal throws your balance off and is a pain.:)

With the cost of clays it is way cheaper to break a couple in a stack then to buy the Patriot, although I am not sure what I will buy still.

With the triggering, the patriot has options to buy wireless and audio. Also a wobbler, not sure what that really does though.

How hard would just wiring in a audio control circuit be? Me and the two guys I'd be shooting with most often are all electricians, so I am sure we would try, lol.

x2 for the Atlas machines!! We use AT50's and 250's at the Club and they work great! You also have the option of wireless control system as well for a mere $150. Stainless steel construction is a big plus too!

There is a Canadian dealer for them too now (in McAdam NB) and they have awesome service just like Atlas does.

Regards,

Atlas

X3 for the Atlas machines.

They are top notch. My 250 has bounced around in the back of my truck for many trips out to the country. Hasn't missed a beat. Throws further than I guy can make dust.

I had mine shipped up directly from Kansas. As a matter of fact, my arse still hurst from paying the B.S. brokerage fees!

They are well worth the money.

By the way, my cuz has one of those Whole Sale Sport P.O.S. (the white ones).
The best thing about them is you can reload your magazine tube while you wait for it to cycle. Probly get your buddies shotgun too, if you hurry!
