Just registered. I am scheduled to take the CFSC and CRFSC next weekend after saying for 20 years that I was going to do it! I'm pretty excited. I will be joining one of the local Ottawa ranges. Somewhat dismayed by how long it takes to get a restricted pal! I will be looking at aquiring a 9mm pistol and was considering a SIG 226 or am also intrigued by the Beretta P4X. Any thoughts?

join a club ASAP, but stay away from RA centre
buy a gun, shoot some paper, have a good time!
 
Yes, as BP7 said, do stay away from the RA Centre. I'm at the EOHC (Eastern Ontario Handgun Club). I know two people who've owned P226's - and were kind enough to let me have a go at them - and they've had nothing but good things to say about them.
