Good evening everybody!

When I was about 10 years old I responded to an ad in a gun magazine extolling the accuracy and cost saving of re-loading. I told them I shot 22 and would like to save money.

They wrote me a nice letter and explained that 22 is not reloadable. I wish I still had that letter.

22 ammo at the time, BTW, was less than 50 cents a box of 50.

Yeah, haven't seen this specific site but there were a few you-tube snippets on doing such. I shot a lot of .22 when I was a kid. I think I lived with that rifle day and night for years from when I was 12 to 18 years old. I have no idea of the number of rounds that have gone down that barrel and how many grouse, gophers and rabbits it has dispatched, never mind the massive quantities of tin cans, cardboard boxes, paper targets and who know what else it has shot. I also had a 12 gauge shotgun I'd religiously carry about 2 miles to and from a local trap club every weekend from when I was 14 to 18. I completely wore that poor gun out. I still have both of them. The .22 has character wrote large all over the stock in a variety of nicks scratches, gouges and worn out spots, but otherwise works as well as the day I got it for Christmas. Even with the current price of .22LR, I think I will continue to shoot factory made rounds. Sometimes, just because you can do something doesn't mean you should. ;-) ,22LR is just too small and fiddly for me. I'd probably would have had one if it was available when I was 14 or so.

You don't know you can do something until you try to do something. ;)
 
I've loaded a lot of 222 Remington over the years, and it's a pleasure to load for because just about everything shoots well.

Lately I've enjoyed loading 44 magnum for my revolver and lever action - that is one flexible cartridge to load for... everything from mild to ouch.
