Good fishing in Ontario

one don't poach some areas you will end up with the locals posting a bounty on you

two this is ontario many rivers and creaks such as the oshawa creek and such host exelent fishing many people fish urban areas all year round (legal season permiting) they're is good fishing all through this provence

three don't trust any fishing tips given to you by someone you know personaly people protect they're fishing holes and secret spots and will try and mislead you

four start a fish jurnal and recoard things such as water temp and depth depth of thermocile and other information this is vital safte ra few years you'll notise treands you know those guys who go out drop they're lines and catch fish (don't you hate them just go out the'yre show up for a half hour and bang they catch fish)... this is why they know when the fish will hit where and why they are hitting.

Algonquin Park has some great trout fishing. Stay away from the Highway 60 corridor and go north to the Brent entry point. From Cedar lake you can easily portage to some amazing native trout lakes. I've personally caught and been present when others have caught some 5lb Speckled trout and 10 lb Lake Trout in Carl Wilson Lake. If you look at the geography of the south west ridge across Cedar Lake its not hard to figure out which lakes are good for monster trout.

I'd try the area just east of the Park, access via Kearney (Rain Lake Road) or Sand Lake ( Tower Road ) take a canoe, and if you're tenting, be prepared, first week or two of May, it can be pretty frosty and snow isn't that unusual .

For other spots, you might want to try one of the publications available in some of the bigger ( or better, smaller outlets) like
the Ontario Blue Ribbon Fishing Guide or Ontario Fishing regional series. Even a review of the back dozen or so issues of Ontario Out of Doors or Izumi's Real Fishing magazines should be a help.

Great Fishing up Here for sure, its seems with the newer regs and slot sizes a lot less people are going deep in the bush for the real "fruitful" at.

Last May Run or "May 24" as some southerners would say I was on Ivonhoe lake /river in Foleyet and we fished the river and mouth or lake with some sucess despite the poor weather, luckily the heater in the camp worked and the Coffee and Baileys was plentiful !!!

Sounds like good times ;)

I wanna get a couple guys together and do a canoe/portage trip for a week on all the back lakes here maybe this summer.
