I spent Friday afternoon, all day Saturday, and Sunday until noon doing my civic duty at gopherxs' farm. Dirtlump and his son-in-law came down and gave a good account of themselves as well.

Thanks goes to gopherxs for your good hospitality, and also to dirtlump for sharing your grub.

We toasted a goodly number of the poor, cute little gophers. I smoked a few with a 12 ga. The other boys were using a .17 and a .243. We all used .22's for the bulk of the time.

Next spring will be coming around none too soon!

Thanks again fellas!!:p:p

Usually have a good gopher hunt every weekend this time of year. Last weekend was exceptional as I took my buddies 18yr old son out for his first time ever shooting a rifle.
My 12yr old daughter, using my .17hmr gets them at 300yds most of the time, had a lot of good laughs. Both kids are addicted, the ammo companys should be giving me a discount.

Sorry about the lack of pics when I post gopher successes. You see, I usually shoot right up until the very last second when I should already be in the car heading home and I am not. I really don't allow for time to run all over a field photographing the 80 or ninety gophers I have just shot in the past 2 hours. For those that do, I really appreciate the pics, I just don't have the time or esp the tech to do so. I don't have a camera on my phone and I don't own a digital camera. Even if I did, I am not sure that I can get things posted. The 2 times I tried it here, using my son's camera phone, turned out badly so I gave up.
