Hello i am looking for a good gunsmith in Ontario to help with a presicion rifle build.

I want to cross the tactical look of the Mcmillan A5 or AICS stock and chamber it for a 6mmBR.

Maybe a Sergeon or Nesika action.
Shilen or Kreiger Barrel
Jewel trigger set to 6oz.

And a couple more bells and whistles.

Epps, Shooter's Choice, Precision Arms. Orillia, Waterloo, King City, respectively.
Ever shoot a rifle with a 6 oz trigger? Bump the rifle and it'll go bang.
"...Shilen or Kreiger..." There are very high quality Canadian barrels being made.

id be careful with a trigger pull that light. bumping the gun, lightly touching the trigger before your ready things like that are likely to set off the round, and no the safty shouldent be the only safty feature, the trigger should be stiff enough its not going to move dropping the gun, bumping it or things like that.

i wouldent go much lighter than 1lb.

always have to concider what i call the "what if" element of things.

A properly set up trigger can be set to a few ounces and still be safe. This type of trigger has no place other than on a range, shooting from a rest.

can still bump or drop your gun while at the range.

the what if comes in is if you forget to turn the safty on while the guns loaded. bump or drop the gun at the bench and having it go off. its a lot of whatifs, but stranger things have happend. (dogs shooting their masters stepping on a gun while hunting. )

I finished a build similar to what you are considering. I had the barrel made by Rob MacLennen chambered in 6mmBR. I had it short throated for lighter bullets and a slower 1:13 twist to shoot them into one hole. I currently have it sitting in an Ultimate Sniper stock from Choate, but I have a Bell and Carleson tactical coming in for it soon. I burned out my 700 barrel, so I used that as my action. I splurged on the jewell trigger and the set up is amazing. Fully customizable. I have to agree with what others are saying. For a "tactical" rig 6oz is too light. Maybe if all you're going to use it for is bench shooting, that would be good, but if you have to transition into different positions, the rifle will likely get bumped around a bit. I have mine set between 1.5 and 2 pounds. The rifle is still capable of shooting sub half minute groups. And for 600 yards I have no problems. I primarily built this rifle for the Listowel Counter Sniper Shoot. Its perfect for this application. I hope to test it for F Class shooting as well, but 75% of the time, its a heavy accurate range rifle.
