i want to take my black badge & i want to know if chip mcormack 8 rd mags are good & a good starter holster etc, im using a 1911 commander, stock but cleaned up. thanx

Chip McCormack makes good mags. if you have the 8 rounders use them. if you are going to buy, buy the 10 rounders since in Canada the gun doesn't have to have the mag in it to fit in the box. A kaydex (sp) holster is a good starter holster. either an Uncle Mikes or a Bladetech. will work. you will want a minimum of 4 mags (if 10 Ronders and 5 is preferable.) if you are using 8 rounders then 5 and 6.

mccormick are pretty good, but i find the wilson ones are slightly better....they are less likely for the lips to swell out and cause the mag from falling free,
the macgar will not fit if you have on a magwell.
the mccormick are easier for taking apart to clean...
so, you all 8 rounders that you have, but if you're buying some new as well, get the wilson mags....especially if they have them in 10 rnd's.
