Hey guys I want to get an O/U. I currently do not have one. I don't want it to be cheap but I also don't want to spend over 2k. Whats a good O/U to start with?

Get a Browning or Beretta that fits you. Browning just came out with the Cross Over Target that's an intro gun to work for any sport untill you find out what you are really interested in. Or get a nice used one with an adjustable comb so you can always make it fit you.

CZ red head has been good entry level o/u for the price just under 1000.00 .saw a fausti the other day looks decent for 1400.00.
Just make sure what ever you get fits.

Browning Citori, Muruko maybe an SKB if your lucky enough to stumble across on .
The later isnt all that rare, but good value for the money.
Of course these are from the used market and can be had from $600.00 and up depending on whether it has choke tubes or fixed
chokes.
Just some options tossed out for digestion.

Fabarm makes some sweet O/U's. The Axis and Elos. You can check them out on The Shooting Edge's website.

^There is some sound advice right here in this post.
And IMO why exactly did the Ruger Red Label disappear for a while?
Because this otherwise nice American made O/U was too heavy for it's bore size.
The only one worth a lick was the properly sized and weighted 28 gauge.
It will be interesting to see how long it lasts on the market once again.
Perhaps my meager opinion will ruffle some feathers, sorry.

my two bits only....

Edit: The Beretta Silver Pigeon is one sweet firearm that appeals to many also. Ditto here.
