Hi, anyone have some suggestions for what mount to get? I know Larue doesn't sell to Kanuckistan and I thought of getting a US friend to buy one for me, but it would be simpler to buy from a CGN forum vendor and have it shipped to me.

I would greatly appreciate suggestions for a mount for this combination:

impoint Comp Ml2
Swiss Arms Classic Green
Kyle Precision Rail?

If I am missing something else too, please let me know

Thanks.

That depends on what you want.

Im not 100% sure if you can get a mount low enough to co-witness, although if you COULD, a standard Aimpoint low/Wide 30mm mount would be the best bet (its 1/4 inch from top of picatinny rail to bottom of scope tube)

If it wont co-witness, IMHO ADM (American Defense Mfg) makes a fine QR mount. They have a low profile one which is about 1/2 inch from top of rail to bottom of scope tube, although it is QR, so if you need to its easy to get off.

I had a similar setup for my Benelli M4 shotgun (ML3 and ADM low mount), I liked it a lot, but sold it to get my T1 Micro.

SOCOM Supply is the importer for them, they are about 120-130 bucks on their website. The model would be AD68 LOW.

Good point - thanks for answering and the ideas - and yes, I want to co-witness. I might need to get one of those $300 Swiss Arms attachments for the stock for cheek weld etc... (too tired to remember the name) I guess as well?

If you can get the aimpoint low enough to co-witness you wont need the cheek piece. It will be a slightly looser cheek wield, but with a red-dot sight its not quite as important (you should still have a fairly solid cheek wield)

I wish I had tested my Aimpoint ML3 on my friends Black Special with B&T rail before I sold it, as it would have given me a good idea as to how close it was to co-witness. Im pretty sure the ADM wont allow for a co-witness, although it is QR so thats not a big worry.

I have heard from Green Tips posts, that the Aimpoint M4 will NOT co-witness on the Sig rifles, however I dont know what the optical centre line is.

With the ML3, it was 15mm plus half an inch, so the middle of the scope lens is about 27-28mm above the top of the picatinny rail.

With a quarter inch Aimpoint mount it would be about 21-22mm above the rail.

I don't have a measurement of how far the rear sight hole is above the picatinny rail, so I cant comment on weather it will work or not, but hopefully that will give you some idea on if you can pull it off or not.

Im pretty sure than an Aimpoint Micro would allow for a lower 3rd co-witness with the factory mount, I have heard that before... cant confirm though.

The Aimpoint Micro's centre line is about 18mm above the top of the picatinny rail.

Thanks very much - really helpful. I will order the Aimpoint low/wide mount. I should get the Kyle rail in the next day and can measure it.

I hope this works out. I shall wait for to buy cheek piece as $300 seems like a lot for a non metal part, but that is all part of the firearm process I guess. Could be worse, like buying something for a boat. I would be adding zeroes to everything.

Thanks F22!

Hmmm - maybe I will skip co-witnessing then or not worry too much about it - I mostly need the aimpoint for tactical rifle matches and gun range practice. I am going to think about a really nice piece of glass for this for Christmas and then buy a CQB and move the aimpoint to that.

Thanks for the help, I came from 33/38 years of bolt actions and am just waking up to all this stuff. Really enjoying the Classic Green and looking forward to getting the Swiss Arms optics done asap.
